On Saturday we headed up to Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center to go pumpkin picking with the Kriers. We had heard that Bates Nut Farm is popular but Mike and I were overwhelmed by the mass of people. The parking lot alone looked as though it was ready for a Chargers Tailgate party. We strapped the little munchkin into the B.O.B., lathered her up with sunscreen and set off to explore the festivities.

Who's ready to go and choose a pumpkin?

This picture Mike captured just makes me want to start singing, "I'm Proud to be an American..."

Our first trip to Bates Nut Farm was so much fun!

 And she's spent!

"Did you have fun at the pumpkin patch Daddy because I sure did!."

Go Aztecs!

When the Bunch family came to visit back in August, they picked up a onesie for Kensington from SDSU. It was the perfect thing to wear on Saturday morning as she explored Dudley's crate.

 Well hello there!

"I'm going to come after you like a spider monkey."

"Squirrel...." Once again she was distracted by something outside.

"Who me? No, I'm not touching the lock."

Park Play Date with the Vincents

Although it is the middle of October, the weather in San Diego currently feels like it should be the middle of July. The sun is shining and the temperature has been between 79-85 degrees all week. On Thursday Christie called after school to see if Kensington and I wanted to her and the kiddos at the park. We came home, played with the pups then headed down the street to our amazing neighborhood park.

Of course I had to make an Instagram collage

Bathing Beauty

My girlfriend Tara passed along so many amazing things for Kensington to use, this chair being one of them. Now, Kensington can soak in the tub, sit and read a book without slipping all over.
She just LOVES bathtime!

Dress Up Days

Kensington recovered from being sick just in time for two dress up days at the CDC. Ashley Falls had their Red Ribbon Day  on Tuesday this week so all of the preschool was encouraged to wear red. Then on Wednesday in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the kiddos wore pink. Kensington loved both dress up days and can't wait for this week's PJ dress up day.

Finishing the day eating avocado and bananas with her fingers. All in all...success!

School Time

She loves when Daddy takes her to school in the morning. Here they are all dressed up for the day with their matching smiles.

Here We Go!

She cheered her favorite football team on for their first win all season!
Here we go Steelers!

Sick little Bug

Unfortunately the transition from September to October brought about a huge bout of sickness for the Braund household. In the course of 2 weeks, Kensington was sent home twice from the CDC, went to the doctor's office twice and had to go on antibiotics, Mike was so sick that he actually had to go on antibiotics as well. Luckily, Grammy was able to come down and watch the little one so that I only had to take 2 days off of work.

Trying to get comfortable with Daddy

Trying to decide between Daddy and Dudley

Even when starting to develop the sniffles, she was still all smiles and claps.
Little Miss began the phase where she did not want to eat her "solids" on a spoon. So, we tried the pouch just to see. She made it through about 4 squeezes.

We were really bummed that she had to miss polka-dot day at school. So of course, we had to dress her up anyway.
Our sick little bug is still the happiest little monkey ever!
 She loves her cozy rug

She also loves to read just like Grammy

This picture shows how she started to feel by the end of the day. Tired, sniffles, and a fever.

Discovering that she could hold onto the couch and stand up definitely gave her something to smile out.

What did she pull up for? Daddy's fruit leather of course!
 Still holding onto it.

When I stayed home with her from school, we took a little trip over to Sage so that I could film one Student Council candidate. Of course we had to stop by Auntie Jess's room to visit with bunny.

Even when she didn't feel well, she still showed Dudley lots of love.

Trying to eat her pouch...well sort of.

At the height of her sickness, she crawled up into my arms 45 minutes before Mike got home and actually fell asleep while I was singing to her.
By the time we were into see the doctor for a second visit, Little One's temperature had reached 102.7 and she still had numerous cold symptoms. So, the doctor put her on amoxicillin right away.

Two days of antibiotics and she was starting to seem like her old self again.

 "Who's sick? Not me!"
